22624 S State Route 89, Yarnell, AZ 85362
Description
Supplements: It also sports vintage features such are original hardwood flooring from 1926; hand crafted interior door facings; and the unique treasure of wood sculpted saguaros. Of note, having been an eatery and bar, some of these features are still in place: kitchen area w/ propane gas stove, large walk-in cooler, full bar set up for mixing drinks and beautiful bar top size. Yarnell became well known in 2013 due to the loss of the 19 Granite Mountain Hotshots during their battle against a wildfire on June 30. The State of Arizona completed a State Park where hikers can take a trail to the memorial site and experience the stunning views of the desert to the south from the top of the Weaver Mountains. The State also erected a Memorial Park on SR-89 just to the north of the properties. Yarnell is a popular destination for motorcycle enthusiasts – who enjoy weekly weekend gatherings motoring from the Phoenix and Wickenburg to greet those from Prescott and Flagstaff, gathering at Gilligan’s Pizza & Bar or the popular Ranch House Restaurant. Yarnell is also popular with vintage enthusiasts who travel for unique treasures from the Yarnell Emporium, Blue Adobe Vintage, Penny Lane, Days of Vintage and the Painted Lizard. The community offers historic sites: The ‘Shrine of St. Joseph of the Mountains’ is a presentation of the Stations of the Cross tucked into an outcrop of gray granite boulders characteristic of the Yarnell back country landscape completed with life size statues. The ranch of former AZ Senator John Hays in Peeples valley just north on SR-89 is the site of the yearly Yavapai Cattle Growers sales; the famous Kirkland Bar on the way to the Bagdad Mine; and, ‘White Elephant Curve’ and, ‘Frog Rock’ to the South. There has been a recent resurgence of interest in the Mining Industry in Yarnell since it is located in one of the most heavily mineralized areas of Arizona. Mines include the following: Rich Hill, Rincon, Hayden, and the Yarnell Mines – just four of many claims in the area. The local area was also home to two famous southwest artists: George Phippen and Cynthia Rigden. Take a deep breath in the fresh air of Yarnell Az which in the past proclaimed it’s distinction as “where a desert breeze meets the mountain air”
